Your Guide to Punta Mita Beach Clubs

From relaxed pool days to surf sessions, discover the four beach clubs inside Punta Mita.

Your Guide to Punta Mita Beach Clubs

One of the pleasures of staying inside Punta Mita is being able to choose between several beach clubs.

The private gated community has four, each with a different setting and atmosphere. A pool day can give way to a swim in a calm bay, then an afternoon watching surfers - all without leaving Punta Mita.

Here's how the beach clubs differ, so you can choose one to suit the day.

Pacífico Beach Club

Pacífico suits a classic beach club day, with ocean views and sunsets.

Punta Mita's original beach club, Pacífico, sits on the Pacific side of the peninsula.

There's beachfront lounging, a pool and casual dining, all with wide-open ocean views even a view overlooking the famous “Tail of the Whale” ocean hole. I'd choose it for an unhurried day: settle in by the water, take a break for lunch and leave the afternoon largely unplanned.

Kupuri Beach Club

Kupuri is a practical choice for families and a full day of swimming.

Set along Litibú Bay, Kupuri is particularly appealing if you plan to spend much of the day in the water.

Pools, beach access and loungers cover the essentials, with food, drinks and family-friendly amenities close at hand. Spa services are available too, so there's room for a quiet afternoon as well as a busier family day at the beach.

For a group with different ideas about how to spend the day, Kupuri is a sensible starting point.

Sufi Ocean Club

At Sufi, the draw is a relaxed pool day and lunch overlooking Banderas Bay.

Sufi Ocean Club looks out over Banderas Bay, with a quieter atmosphere and an unhurried pace.

Loungers and daybeds surround the saltwater pool, and the beach lies just beyond. When it's time to eat, seafood, ceviche and casual meals are available by the water.

Allow a little room in your plans here; lunch can quite comfortably turn into an afternoon by the pool.

El Surf Club

El Surf Club pairs surfing with an easy-going beach atmosphere.

You'll find El Surf Club at La Lancha, one of the area's best-known surf spots.

Things are relaxed here, with surf rentals and instruction available if you'd like to get out on the water. Back on the beach, the menu includes coastal Mexican food, seafood and tacos, with drinks to go alongside.

Surfing is entirely optional. Lunch by the beach, a drink and a view of the waves are reason enough to visit.

Which Punta Mita Beach Club Should You Visit?

There's no need to settle on one.

Try a few during your stay, letting the day's plans guide you rather than choosing a favourite in advance.

Pacífico offers the classic beach club day with Pacific views, while Kupuri suits families keen to swim and spend the day by the water. Choose Sufi for lunch and a leisurely afternoon at the pool, or El Surf Club for surfing and a more casual beach setting.

Together, they offer four rather different ways to spend time by the water in Punta Mita.

Beach Club Access When Renting in Punta Mita

Before booking a holiday rental inside Punta Mita, check exactly what beach club access comes with it.

An address within the community doesn't automatically include entry to the clubs. Some rentals have no access, while others include only certain clubs, depending on the membership attached to the residence.

Every property we rent in the Punta Mita Villa Rentals collection includes access to all four beach clubs: Pacífico, Kupuri, Sufi Ocean Club and El Surf Club.

With all four included, you can decide where to spend the day without first checking whether your villa's membership covers the club you have in mind.
